The Workplace Benefits Association has inducted Rob J. Thurston, president of HR Consulting Group (HRCG), into the Worksite Marketing Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame recognizes individuals for their contributions to the voluntary employee benefits industry.
Thurston has been a national speaker and noted author on HR consulting and systems development since 1981. He has implemented and designed some of the largest-selling employee benefits software systems nationwide while part of an international brokerage firm, a national administration firm, and as a consultant. Thurston is now working on the development of several advanced technology systems for both HR and employee benefits.
As president of HRCG, Thurston is providing help to employers, administrators and insurance professionals on HR and benefits issues.
During his career, Thurston has worked for companies including IBM and Delta. He was one of the first 90 executives worldwide to earn the Accredited Executive in Personnel from the Society of Human Resources Management, and he worked as the youngest vice president of consulting for Fred. S. James, the third largest HR/benefits consulting firm in the world.
In 1986, he acquired Comprehensive Benefits and started HRCG Inc. Thurston is a member of organizations such as the National Association of Health Underwriters, National Association of Professional Benefits Administrators, Self-Insurance Institute of America and World Congress of Benefits, among others.
