Klawitter joins Benefit Commerce Group

Amy Klawitter has joined the firm as vice president of client strategy advocacy benefit commerce group, an employee benefits consulting firm. Klawitter has more than 20 years of client management and sales experience, most recently as vice president of sales and account management at UnitedHealthcare in Phoenix. At Benefit Commerce Group, she will work directly with the benefits consulting team to develop strategies on employee benefits for clients; advocate for clients with insurance companies, TPAs and other vendors, assure smooth onboarding for new clients of Benefit Commerce Group and facilitate activities between the firm’s benefits consulting team and client services team.

Yarcusko tapped for member support role

Grace Yarcusko has joined Benefit Advisors Network as member support coordinator. Yarcusko will support BAN’s National Account Executives, creating a customer service experience that enables members to improve their performances and profitability. She specifically will handle on-boarding new members, managing the Virtual Office which serves as an information center for BAN members, and assisting members with other BAN resources. Yarcusko previously was a production manager, pattern maker, and design consultant at Forma Apparel.

Reflektive names Greg Brown as CEO

People management platform Reflektive has selected Greg Brown as CEO. Most recently, Brown served as senior vice president of International Business at Blackhawk Network. Prior to Blackhawk Network, Brown held the position of chief revenue officer at Achievers, a provider of employee recognition and engagement solutions.

Lambert to lead sales for Illinois and Wisconsin at Boston Mutual Life Insurance

Boston Mutual Life Insurance, a national provider of insurance solutions for individuals and at the workplace, has selected Jeff Lambert has been appointed senior regional sales director overseeing Illinois and Wisconsin. Lambert recently served as territory sales manager for Colonial Life and regional sales coordinator and district sales coordinator at Aflac.

American Telemedicine Association appoints new president

The American Telemedicine Association has elected Joseph Kvedar as president-elect. Kvedar is vice president of connected health at Partners HealthCare, and Professor of dermatology at Harvard Medical School. Kvedar previously served as president of ATA from 2004-2005, and was a member of the Board of Directors from 2002-2006.

Springbuk announces new chief operating officer

Health intelligence platform Springbuk has tapped Joy Powell for the role of chief operating officer. Powell brings more than 25 years of domestic and international leadership across multiple industries. Prior to joining Springbuk, Powell was president and chief operating officer at CareSync, the leading provider of care coordination services. In addition to her time at CareSync, Powell’s professional background includes eight years with Healthways, where she served as both president and chief operating officer of the network solutions division as well as president of the health plan division.

Hassinger joins MJ Insurance

Kristi Hassinger, a 14-year employee benefits veteran has been named client executive in the Benefits Consulting group of MJ Insurance, a privately-held insurance agency. Prior to joining MJ Insurance, Hassinger served as senior benefits consultant for a property casualty, employee benefits and private client consultant company. At MJ Insurance, she will be responsible for serving as a primary client adviser and leading the development and execution of the benefits plan strategy through collaboration with consultants and team members.

CareerBuilder appoints Yablonovsky to president

CareerBuilder has selected Sasha Yablonovsky for the role of president. Since joining CareerBuilder in September 2018 as executive vice president of success, Yablonovsky has focused on driving revenue growth and profitability for the company by strengthening the customer experience.

Willis Towers Watson appoints Nikulina to head of research

Luba Nikulina has taken on a new leadership role as head of research at Willis Towers Watson. In her expanded role, Nikulina will oversee Willis Towers Watson’s key internal investment research teams: manager research, operational due diligence and asset research. She will have a key role in overall research proposition and deliver value around investment solutions which appeal to the needs of clients.

Maeve O’Meara named CEO of Castlight Health

Castlight Health has selected Maeve O’Meara as the company’s CEO and for a seat on its board of directors. O’Meara joined Castlight nearly a decade ago, after working as an investor with Highland Capital Partners and as a consultant with Bain & Company. Early in her tenure, Maeve served as the product lead for Castlight’s transparency and personalization solutions. She has held leadership roles in product management, customer experience, business development, product design and product marketing, and most recently served as executive vice president of product and customer experience.

Aon hires Gibbs to lead pharmacy solutions practice

Aon has selected Matt Gibbs to lead the firm’s growing pharmacy solutions practice. As Aon’s senior vice president, pharmacy solutions leader, Gibbs will manage a team that serves employers across the U.S. with pharmacy benefits strategy, program design, cost analysis and competitive bidding of pharmacy benefits management services. His team works collaboratively with Aon’s medical consulting teams to ensure that employers have the right plan to maintain a healthy workforce.

Marquis tapped for regional sales director role

Steve Marquis will oversee sales and support in the South Atlantic region of the U.S., including Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina for Boston Mutual Life Insurance. Marquis has 27 years of industry experience, including long-term tenure in the North Carolina and South Carolina markets. He was most recently regional vice president at Transamerica Employee Benefits. Prior to Transamerica, he served as senior enrollment manager, enrollment manager and individual disability insurance sales representative at Unum.

Transamerica recruits Geisert as senior manager of business development

Steven Geisert has joined Transamerica as senior manager of business development for retirement plans. Geisert will oversee the business development efforts for retirement plans across the country. He will focus on managing national account relationships, creating firm-level business planning and implementing business development strategies with Transamerica’s top distribution partners. During his more than 25 years in the retirement plan industry, Geisert has experience in retirement plan management and distribution, including sales, product design, adviser training, qualified plan regulations and compliance.

The Hartford names Bennett head of group benefits

The Hartford has appointed Jonathan Bennett to head group benefits. Most recently, Bennett served as the chief financial officer and head of strategy for both property and casualty, and group benefits for the past seven years. He has held a variety of executive roles in personal lines, commercial markets, ventures and digital commerce and customer analytics. Prior to joining The Hartford in 1999, Bennett held leadership roles in Cigna’s retirement and individual insurance divisions. He also worked at Arthur Andersen as an auditor and consultant.

MetLife names Pappas head of global technology and operations

MetLife has hired Bill Pappas as executive vice president and head of global technology and operations. Pappas joins MetLife from Bank of America, where he was the head of operations for the consumer, small business, wealth management and private banking businesses. In this role, Pappas directed a team comprised of more than 50,000 employees and contractors delivering integrated service and operations solutions to approximately 63 million consumers and clients.

Nguyen joins Benefit Advisors Network

Charles Nguyen has joined Benefit Advisors Network as a national account executive. In his new role, Nguyen will work directly with the independent health and welfare brokerage firms which are BAN members. He will also be responsible for driving adoption and use of BAN’s services, tools, and products. Nguyen comes to BAN from Allstate Benefits, where he served as a field benefits leader.

HR tech company Hibob selects new CFO

HR tech platform Hibob has appointed David Sussely as chief financial officer. A finance executive with more than 20 years of experience, Sussely’s financial expertise will play a role in Hibob’s growth trajectory as the company focuses on strategic investments. Sussely has a background with merger and acquisition transactions, information system implementation, global finance and operations management. Most recently, Sussely served as vice president of finance and acting CFO at cloud-based digital adoption platform, WalkMe, where led the company through four funding rounds from 2016 to 2019.

FBMC promotes Faulkenberry to president and CEO

FBMC Benefits has promoted David Faulkenberry to president and CEO. Faulkenberry joined FBMC in 2011 and is responsible for the overall leadership, strategy and corporate direction of the organization. He has more than 20 years of executive-level experience in employee benefits, finance and capital management. Previously, while serving as Deputy Secretary of the Florida Department of Management Services, Faulkenberry set the strategic direction and leadership of workforce programs such as the Florida Retirement System, Division of Human Resource Management, Division of State Group Insurance and Human Capital Management. He also served as Chief Financial Officer of the Florida Lottery.
