Boade hired as vice president for CBIZ company

Financial services company CBIZ has hired Ellen Boade as vice president of EFL Associates, a CBIZ company, expanding the firm’s presence in the Denver talent management market. In her role, Ellen will be responsible for conducting executive recruiting projects for clients across the country. She has more than 15 years of experience and prior to joining EFL Associates, Boade served as a principal for a regional boutique retained search firm where she was responsible for the recruitment process for executives and their teams. Prior to that, Boade owned and operated her own executive search firm.

Gradifi selects new chief executive

College savings and student loan benefit provider Gradifi has appointed David Chang to the role of chief executive officer. Chang has more than 20 years of experience as a product and marketing executive, technology entrepreneur and as an angel investor in 40 companies. Most recently, he was entrepreneur-in-residence at Harvard Business School and director of the Babson summer venture program. Prior to those roles, Chang led PayPal’s Boston office, where he helped lead the resurgence of the financial technology and entrepreneurial ecosystem. Earlier in his career, he held positions at Goldman Sachs, TripAdvisor and Internet company Verisign.

Coinbase VP of business development added to ZipRecruiter board

Emilie Choi has been added to ZipRecruiters board of directors. Choi was LinkedIn’s vice president of Corporate Development and was instrumental in the $1.5 billion purchase of Lynda.com, among other acquisitions. She sits on the board of Naspers, one of the world’s largest tech investors, and is vice president of Corporate and Business Development at Coinbase.

Clymer chosen for chief information officer role at Lockton

Lockton has named Byron Clymer to the role of chief information officer. Clymer will oversee strategic information technology initiatives to meet the future needs of associates and clients. Clymer is an IT professional with 25 years of technology, leadership and management experience spanning the spectrum of IT from software engineering to infrastructure operations. He previously served as chief information officer for shipment company FreightQuote.com, overseeing strategy, operations and support of the transportation leader’s technology platforms, including e-commerce. Clymer also served as vice president of IT operations at IT services company CenturyLink and EMBARQ.

Willis Towers Watson appoints new expat benefits solutions lead

Willis Towers Watson a global advisory company, today announced the appointment of Pam Enright as leader of its Expat Benefits Solutions business. In this role, Enright will oversee the growth and operations of the business, which helps multinationals determine the right mix of benefit coverage for their global workforce. Enright has been in the employee benefit industry for over 25 years. Prior to joining Willis Towers Watson, she was a senior vice president and director of global benefits at Lockton Companies for more than 12 years where she launched and developed their global benefits practice, and grew their expat benefits business. Prior to this, Pam was a regional sales director at Aetna Global Benefits. She holds a B.A. in English from The University of Kansas.

Voluntary Disruption appoints new senior account manager

Voluntary Disruption, a division of Silverman Benefits Group, a carrier of agnostic independent enhanced benefits, has selected Misty Fussell to serve as a senior account manager. Fussell will work closely with Voluntary Disruption’s adviser partners and group benefits clients. Her most recent position was as a large account services coordinator for Aflac, where she spent the last 17 years. While at Aflac, she spent the majority of her time working with large accounts that have at least 1,000 lives and bill at least $350,000 in annualized premium.

Grant joins Namely as formal advisor

Adam Grant, a Wharton professor and New York Times-bestselling author, has joined HR platform Namely as a formal advisor. Grant will participate in a number of key initiatives—including the company's client advisory board and gender equality event series. Grant is the author of three books and hosts a podcast called WorkLife.

Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation appoints new director

The Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation’s policy, research and analysis department has tapped Ted Goldman for a director role where he’ll play a role in policy development, pension modeling and forecasting and conducting retirement research. Goldman has more than 40 years of professional experience and comes to PBGC from the American Academy of Actuaries where he served as the senior pension fellow. Prior to the Academy, Goldman spent the majority of his career as a retirement consultant with several leading actuarial consulting firms. Goldman has a bachelors in mathematics from the University of Missouri, Columbia.

Transamerica taps Haase to oversee client engagement for retirement plans

Craig Haase has joined Transamerica as director of client engagement for retirement plans. Haase will oversee client management for mid-size retirement plans and special markets, including multiple employer plans. He has more than 20 years of experience in the retirement plan industry and will be focusing on plan sponsor client satisfaction. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut.

Hebert to lead its Voluntary Benefits practice at Willis Towers Watson

Mark Hebert has been appointed voluntary benefits practice leader at Willis Towers Watson. In this role, Hebert will lead its products and services design, client relations and sales and marketing efforts. He is based in Dallas, TX. Hebert joined Willis Towers Watson in 2016 and has served as senior consultant for the voluntary benefits practice. Before joining the company, Hebert served as president of voluntary benefits advisory company Mile 5 Benefits. He also held positions at financial services company ING and during his 14-year tenure held several positions, including VP of voluntary benefits distribution strategy, regional vice president and regional manager. Hebert has a bachelors in mathematics from the United States Military Academy at West Point and an MBA from Southern Methodist University.

First San Francisco 49’s female CFO to serve on ZipRecruiters board

Cipora Herman is a new addition to ZipRecruiter’s board of directors. Herman helped lead Facebook’s landmark $100+ billion IPO when she was the company’s vice president of Finance and Treasurer. After that, she became the first female chief financial officer for the NFL’s San Francisco 49ers, a position she held until April 2016. She currently serves on the board of directors of MINDBODY.

Former GoDaddy CEO added to ZipRecruiter’s board of directors

ZipRecruiter has Blake Irving to the company’s board of directors. Irving most recently served as CEO of GoDaddy. Within his five years as CEO, the company expanded into over 60 international markets, grew bookings from $1 billion to $2.5 billion, and listed on the NYSE. He has also held senior leadership roles at Microsoft and Yahoo, and currently serves on the board of directors at Docusign.

Tabela selected for chief marketing officer role

Financial services company Custodial Financial hired Aaron Tabela to be chief marketing officer. In his new role, Tabela will be responsible for driving awareness of 401(k) loan defaults as a critical financial wellness and fiduciary challenge. He comes to Custodia from Financial Engines, an independent defined contribution advisory services, serving over 700 companies and 10 million plan participants. Prior to Financial Engines, Tabela led marketing strategy for TIAA's large plan market segment.
