AmerisourceBergen appoints new chief human resources officer

AmerisourceBergen appointed Silvana Battaglia to its executive team as executive vice president and chief human resources officer. In this role, Battaglia will be responsible for leading a global human resources department across the enterprise. Battaglia brings more than two decades of experience running international human resources organizations for Fortune 500 companies. Battaglia will be based out of AmerisourceBergen’s Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, office and is reporting to Gina Clark. She is succeeding Kathy Gaddes, who has taken on the role of executive vice president and corporate compliance officer at AmerisourceBergen.

Brown tapped for VP role at Springbuk

Springbuk has promoted Amy Brown to vice president of health intelligence. Brown first joined Springbuk in 2017 as head of applied analytics and was promoted within a year to senior director of health intelligence, a position in which she oversaw new product features and enhancements, strategic sales, client advisory work and business applications. Prior to Springbuk, Brown was a founding member of Truven/IBM Watson Health Emerging Analytics practice and a listed inventor for two patent-pending analytic methodologies.

Charbonneau hired as senior adviser at Peerfit

Luisa Charbonneau has taken on the role of senior adviser at digital health company Peerfit. Charbonneau comes to Peerfit with experience working in the healthcare space, most recently as vice president of government markets at Florida Blue. Prior to that, Charbonneau was the vice president for Medicare and government programs at Coventry Healthcare/Aetna in Florida and spent 10 years in a variety of leadership roles with Humana.

Cox to head retirement and income solutions at MetLife

MetLife has promoted Graham Cox, executive vice president in global risk management, to head of retirement and income solutions, effective May 1. Cox has business and risk management experience and has held several leadership roles since joining MetLife as an actuary in 1995. He has overseen MetLife’s Group Life product portfolio and the product and operations unit of the former international business. He has also served as head of Western Europe.

Debel to take on chief risk officer role at MetLife

Marlene Debel, currently executive vice president and head of retirement and income solutions at MetLife, will become the company’s chief risk officer on May 1. She will report to Michel Khalaf and join the company’s executive group. Before joining MetLife in 2011, Debel was global head of liquidity risk management and rating agency relations at Bank of America. Prior to that, she was assistant treasurer of Merrill Lynch. She spent 20 years in a number of leadership positions across global treasury at Merrill Lynch.

Fischer hired for senior director role at Springbuk

Anne Fischer has been hired as senior director of health intelligence at Springbuk, bringing more than 20 years of experience in the healthcare information technology industry. Fischer previously served as senior director of emerging analytics for IBM Watson Health, leading the transition of a former Truven Analytics team of data scientists, business analysts and clinicians to create the new Watson Health value-based care emerging analytics team. Fischer’s additional professional background includes Truven Health Analytics, Thomson Reuters and Thomson Healthcare, formerly The Medstat Group.

Futch joins Springbuk in sales role

Tom Futch has joined Springbuk as vice president of global sales. With nearly 30 years of experience in sales, marketing and business development, Futch has lead brands, including Sonos Smart Glasses, Weight Watchers and Johnson & Johnson, in sales growth and objectives.

Guhr tapped for senior adviser role at Peerfit

Digital health company Peerfit tapped Katie Guhr for the role of senior adviser for its Medicare advantage expansion. Guhr has almost 30 years of healthcare experience and spent the last 12 years with profit and loss responsibility over Medicare Advantage products. Guhr was most recently the interim Medicare CEO at Centene Corporation where she focused on growth, organizational structure, compliance, quality, strategy, product and sales and marketing.

Reynolds joins Peerfit as adviser

Dave Reynolds joins Peerfit as an adviser with nearly 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry. Most recently, Reynolds served as senior vice president of the North Division for WellCare Health Plans providing executive leadership and operational oversight over multiple government programs (Medicare/Medicaid) across a five state region. Prior to his time at WellCare, Reynolds was a market president with Humana.

Shah named principal at Strategic Benefits Advisors

Employee benefits consulting firm Strategic Benefits Advisors appointed retirement plan consultant Mary Shah as its newest principal. Shah joined SBA as a benefits adviser in 2016, bringing with her more than 25 years of consulting experience at actuarial and employee benefits consulting firms. Shah’s areas of expertise include actuarial valuations, financial forecasting, risk assessment and mitigation, benefits implementation support and mergers and acquisitions due diligence.

Sprinbuk selects new clinical product strategist

Jeanne Stemland has joined Springbuk as a clinical product strategist. Stemland is experienced in data mining, analytics and customer insights using her combined business, marketing and clinical background. Prior to launching her own firm, Stemland spent 16 years at Eli Lilly.

ActiveRADAR adds managed care pharmacy professional to board

ActiveRADAR, which specializes in pharmacy cost reduction programs for employers, has selected Dr. Norrie Thomas for its board of directors. Thomas brings more than 40 years of pharmacy and managed care experience to the role, including her work launching, managing and selling several companies, such as the PBM, Clinical Pharmacy Advantage. Thomas has held leadership positions at pharmacy and managed care organizations like Aetna, McKesson Corporation and Eli Lilly. Thomas is also founder of the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy and a member of the American Pharmacists Association.

Savoy selects Overholt for VP role

Benefits consulting firm Savoy has appointed Scott C. Overholt to the role of vice president of consumer and senior markets. Prior to joining Savoy, Overholt was managing director of Accenture's northeast payer practice. Overholt will be responsible for advancing Savoy's marketing, sales and retention strategies in the Medicare and individual markets, including Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement, Part D, individual health and personal life insurance. He will also oversee Savoy's Delaware-based contact center and the website. Overholt brings knowledge of customer relationship management, analytics, long-term planning and revenue growth to the company’s brokers.

Tadros to head U.S. business at MetLife

Executive Vice President and Chief Risk Officer of MetLife, Ramy Tadros will become president, of U.S. Business at the company. He will succeed Michel Khalaf, president, U.S. Business and EMEA, who becomes MetLife president and chief executive officer on May 1. Tadros will report to Khalaf and continue to serve on the company’s executive group. Dirk Ostjin, senior vice president and head of EMEA, will continue to oversee the EMEA business reporting to Khalaf. Tadros joined MetLife in September 2017 from Oliver Wyman, where he was a partner, global head of Insurance and a member of the firm’s operating committee.
