Advisers admit to need for healthy lifestyle changes

Advisers may need to make their New Year’s resolutions a bit early. A poll conducted by the Million Dollar Round Table, a group of financial professionals, shows that 83% of its members believe their health is important to doing their jobs well. However, overwhelming numbers of them show that they think they need to improve some aspect of their exercise routine (88%) and stress reduction (91%).

With advisers, especially financial advisers discussing life insurance, relating to employer clients about health needs of employees on an almost-daily basis, these results came as a shock to MDRT. The group has announced an effort to help advisers like their members get more fit including plans for exercise and stress reduction sessions at their annual meeting and the sponsorship of more athletic activities like 5K runs and golf outings.

The poll found that sleep and diet were not as high on the respondents’ list of priorities for improvement as the aforementioned items.
