Announcing EBA’s Advisers of the Year

Presented their awards in front of more than 700 attendees at the Employee Benefit Adviser Summit and Benefits Forum & Expo on Monday, the Employee Benefit Advisers of the Year are:

Health Plan Adviser of the Year

With his business centered on four core values: customer focus, tenacity, trust and contribution, Bryan Brenner, CEO of FirstPerson in Indianapolis, Ind. , is a proactive adviser whose focus on consumerism and wellness education keeps client health care costs under control. Brenner will be featured on the cover of November’s EBA.

Retirement Plan Adviser of the Year

At a time when buzz words like ‘fee disclosure’ and ‘fiduciary duty’ are dominating retirement services talk, Alex Assaley, financial adviser, corporate retirement plans, at AFS Financial Group in Bethesda, Md., has already built a solid foundation in these areas. This allows him to focus on the end result — what he calls “real plan success,” ensuring that each and every plan participant is able to live comfortably in retirement. Assaley will be featured on the cover of October’s EBA.

Employee Benefit Adviser of the Year

It’s no surprise Greg Golub, CEO and founder of Sequoia in San Mateo, Calif., experienced tremendous growth in 2012. His philosophy of “always coming through for people — no matter what” lives out in his effort to continually bring the latest innovations in plan design, data analysis and technology to clients. Read more about Golub’s impressive work in the September issue of EBA.

Voluntary Adviser of the Year
