The benefit broker segment continues to be the largest producer segment according to Eastbridge Consulting Group’s 2010 U.S. Worksite Sales Report. The benefit broker segment counted for more than half (52%) of the voluntary/worksite sales in 2010.

The sales percentages from the career agent segment (0.6%) and classic worksite brokers (0.1%) were low compared to 2009. Only one segment, the worksite specialist, was up in 2010 with more than a 6% sales increase.

The U.S. Worksite Sales Report estimates sales for the entire industry of voluntary benefits with data on the performance of 64 worksite marketing carriers — group and individual.
