Benefits provider adds behavioral counseling platform

Employee assistance programs provider, Personal Assistance Services, has partnered with technology company wayForward to bring digital behavioral health platforms to clients.

The technology by wayForward uses algorithms to help employers monitor the emotional health of their workforce and provides training to managers so they’re prepared to handle employee wellness issues. The mobile and desktop platforms give employees constant access to licensed counselors.

“Customers will reap the benefits of a better prepared, focused and productive workforce,” by using the employee assistance tool, says Ritvik Singh, wayForward’s CEO.

Personal Assistance Services has been in the assistant program market for over 30 years and works with clients all over the world. The company offers management training tools, organizational consultations and HR support during layoffs, firings and personal emergencies. They also offer tools to help employees manage stress and anxiety. Company executives say they were attracted to wayForward because of their focus on using analytics to address health and wellness.

“The wayForward platform allows PAS to scale its programs and service offerings by reaching more people where they ‘live’ – on their mobile devices – and engaging them in a self-paced process that will help them achieve their personal goals and improve their quality of life,” Singh says.

wayForward is based in New York and is made up of a team of researchers, clinicians and behavioral health experts from Columbia University, University of Michigan, Yeshiva University and UC San Diego. Their platform is used by more than 5 million individuals.

Employees and their dependents are not charged for wayForward’s services under PAS.
