The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America announces that Michael Martocci joins the group benefits management team as second vice president of worksite markets. Martocci will lead Guardian’s planned expansion in the worksite market and joins Guardian from ING, where he served as regional director of the Mid-Atlantic region for worksite and voluntary products.   Mercer announces the appointment of Sharon Cunninghis as U.S. health & benefits region leader. Cunninghis, who is an actuary and senior partner, works with a number of Mercer’s key clients to help them set program strategy for their health care and other welfare programs. During her 20-plus-year career she has developed a broad and diverse client portfolio. Prudential Group Insurance names Joseph M. Hayes vice president of information systems and chief information officer. In this role he will be responsible for group Insurance technology and systems, as well as collaboration on business strategies and solutions throughout the larger organization. Transamerica Employee Benefits announces the appointment of John “Jody” Sevy as territory vice president of sales for the Northeast region, which includes Maine to Maryland and west to Ohio. He will lead a team of regional vice presidents to drive business development and sales, and further develop the company’s agent and broker distribution channels. The Standard appoints Jennifer Giampaolo as a pension consultant for its Orange County Retirement Plans Office. She will be responsible for retirement plan sales in Orange, San Diego, San Bernardino and Riverside counties. She will also serve Arizona and New Mexico.
