How can brokers grow their business?

Independent brokers will soon have access to a program designed to help grow their business.

The Better Way Agency program, created by Sitkins Group Inc., will be available in the fall to independent insurance agencies that subscribe through Zywave Inc.

Sitkins Group, a Fort Meyers, Fla.-based organization that serves as a sales coach and trainer for independent brokers, recently partnered with Milwaukee, Wis.-based Zywave, a software-as-a-service company that has more than 3,000 brokerages worldwide utilizing its solutions.

“The vision behind The Better Way Agency dovetails nicely with ours — driving profitable results for brokers in a dynamic marketplace,” says Zywave CEO Dave O’Brien. “Our new partnership addresses a growing need for independent agencies — actionable growth strategies and the technology solutions to execute efficiently on those strategies.”

The Web-based  platform focuses on “total account selling,” which includes treating all clients as VIPs, annual account reviews, incentive compensation for sales and service staff, maximizing automation and finding younger talent to fill any gaps that might exist in the industry.

“We teach agencies how to move from a commodity-based business model to a relationship-based model — where every customer is profitable for the agency,” says Sitkins Group CEO Roger Sitkins, who’s helped more than 2,000 brokers build their businesses. “Zywave’s technology allows agencies to go to market with The Better Way Agency strategies — providing a selling and service system that no one else offers.

“Most independent agencies can’t compete with price-only selling against large, direct-writer competitors — but they can out-service them,” Sitkins adds. “The Better Way Agency program teaches agencies how to change their service model and implement a management structure to support the change, all while increasing profitable growth.”
