Small-Market 401(k) Summit Series Announced

Guardian Insurance & Annuity Company has announced a national series of interactive educational events for financial professionals focused on the micro- to small-plan retirement marketplace.

Eight dates and locations were announced for the Guardian Retirement Solutions 401(k) G2 Summit: Gain and Grow. The “micro- to small-plan” market consists of 401(k) plans with under $5 million in assets. This segment makes up 95% of all qualified plans and represents more than $750 billion in plan assets, according to 2012 data from Cerulli Associates.

“Many financial professionals make the mistake of ignoring the micro- to small-plan market, or feel they have to go it alone,” said Steve Davis, National Sales Manager, Guardian Retirement Solutions. “We want to help financial professionals who currently sell 401(k)s or are considering entering the marketplace do so effectively and efficiently by working with the right service providers to help them save time, mitigate risk, and meet client needs. Avoiding the micro- to small-401(k) marketplace means ignoring exceptional business opportunities. It also means leaving qualified plan business opportunities open for other financial professionals to take advantage of and leaving their client base open to the competition.”

The Summit is designed to demonstrate how financial professionals can maximize opportunities in the micro- to small-plan marketplace by learning to effectively leverage service providers like TPAs, fiduciary support services, recordkeepers, and DCIO partners more efficiently, and to take concrete steps to build business, better serve clients and win prospects.

“Small business 401(k) plans provide a unique platform for financial professionals to increase revenue, diversify their client base and establish deeper and more rewarding relationships with business owners, company executives and plan participants,” said Davis. “The G2 Summit attendees will learn how best to identify, prospect and serve 401(k) plan opportunities. These events represent our commitment to becoming the go to provider in the micro-small plan market space.”

Industry-leading retirement experts from Jason C. Roberts, Founder and CEO of the Pension Resource Institute, T. Rowe Price, Franklin Templeton, Legg Mason, SWBC Investment Advisory Services, LLC and Stadion Money Management LLC will provide actionable ideas and insights to help identify opportunities and deliver scalable solutions. Behavioral finance expert Dr. Daniel Crosby will take participants through an interactive exercise that demonstrates the financial impact of tuning in to a client's personality.
