Transformations for all

In a profession on the brink of radical change, advisers need deeper insight, more analysis, and broader perspectives. They need actionable, timely information in the formats in which they can best absorb it. And they need it now.

EBA has heard from its readers and editorial advisers. And we're responding.

We have redesigned the publication to provide more of what you need, better organized to include targeted news and information in each section. We're also tying the print publication to our website and social media outlets to provide a seamless interface.

This will help build a stronger community in which we can all engage in discussions about news, trends and best practices. We want to help advisers better judge what's going on, to help them communicate and work with their clients and succeed in this brave - but sometimes daunting - new world. The improvements include:

Spotlight on our industry experts. We've added a page dedicated to our outstanding advisory board where we will feature their insights on the themes of each issue (p. 8). And we've moved our columnists into their own commentary section at the front of the book (pgs. 18-26) for quick access to their columns.

Web integration. Our On the Web section is now two pages, one dedicated to EBA's social media presence (p. 10) and the other featuring the depth of coverage we have available to you in various formats, including videos, podcasts and slideshows, on eba.benefitnews.com (p. 12).

Be sure to visit EBA's Facebook page as we launch our Fan of the Month program. Additionally, we've also made it easier for you to download the app to access our digital edition: Just capture the QR code on p. 12 with your smartphone and you're there.

Eye-catching art, typefaces. You'll notice the EBA logo has a fresh new look, and we've updated the fonts for improved readability as well. The commentary sections feature dynamic photographs, and we have a world-class artist illustrating the broker featured on our Day in the Life page (p. 66). Email me if you're interested in receiving such star treatment yourself.

More information in easy-to-digest packages. The new Take 5 section (pgs. 16-17) breaks down five topics for a quick look at what's hot in employee benefits right now. We've also streamlined our departments - Health, Retirement, Voluntary, Technology, Newsmakers, Be Advised and Business - with shorter articles that get straight to the heart of what you need to know.

Please dive in and let us know what you think. I'd love to hear from you at elizabeth.galentine@sourcemedia.com or (571) 403-3840.
