While Congress continues to debate the fate of the Affordable Care Act, all proposals to date seem to acknowledge that health savings accounts will continue to play an important role in consumer healthcare.
With the ongoing growth of these plans — enrollment in HSA-compatible plans doubled from 2010-2015, and by 2016, nearly a third of all employers offering health plans offered an HSA-compatible option — employers are looking for products and designs that make the transition to HSA-compatible plans a little smoother. One of the most common employer concerns is how to limit the financial impact to employees when moving from a traditional plan to an HSA-compatible plan.
