Who would you recruit to the business?

You are a producer, account manager or service rep. I suspect this industry was your life’s calling.  From the time you were in grade school you always aspired to be in the employee benefit business. NOT!

How did you get here? I started in the life insurance business after graduation. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do and I had a close friend who was having success as a life insurance producer. His manager recruited me … not exactly my life’s calling! I morphed into the benefit business as it was dealing with business owners, during normal business hours.

Many of you have migrated from the life insurance business. Many are former carrier reps, payroll reps or come out of the PEO space.

For most of us, this is a wonderful business. We are able to assist our clients with their employee benefit needs and become a trusted advisor.  We are also able to fulfill our personal goals and objectives.

I believe we have a responsibility to replenish our talent pool. We have a responsibility to encourage the right people to come into our business. Certainly you know one or two friends, relatives etc. that would welcome the opportunity to achieve what you have achieved.  Who would know better than you who would be the appropriate fit in our business? Who could you recruit to our business?  If you don’t do it, who will?
