If you are tired, rest. If you are hungry, eat. Also, if you don’t have the money, don’t spend it.

3. Consider scaling back your holidays

If you are experiencing more stress than usual in other parts of your life, keep in mind that you don’t always have to repeat something extravagant that you did last year.

Count your blessings in an active way, Bedrosian says. Make a list of the people and things you appreciate in your life.

Watch your drinking, especially if you are feeling at all depressed this holiday season

6. Anticipate the letdown

It is normal to feel a little letdown after the holiday excitement is over, but you can prepare for it. Be sure to build some pleasurable activities into your January schedule and you will have some things to look forward to.
